Antipodes
Antipodes are two places on the exact opposite sides of the Earth.
Antipodes are defined as пїЅany two places or regions on diametrically opposite sides of the EarthпїЅ.
In simple terms it is anyplace on the other side of the world, a classic example being the North and South poles.
The origin of the word antipodes are the Greek words anti, meaning opposed or opposite, and pous, meaning foot. If two places are antipodal it means that they are at two opposite sides of the earth and that if a straight line is drawn from one place to the next that line should pass the center of the earth.
Mathematically antipodes are expressed in coordinates (longitudes and latitudes). If the coordinates of a location is (?,F) then the coordinates of its antipodal location is simply (?пїЅ180,-F).
